Bless the Child

Dear Lord,

DSC_0099

Three little souls you have sent to us.  To nurture.  To love.  To teach.  To Guide.

There is so much I want to give to them, so much I want to do for them, and so much I want to be for them.  But I am only one person with two hands, and so when I am not able to look after them and guide them, I ask you to please…

Help them see themselves through the eyes of those who love them.

Help them turn a blind eye to hate.

Help them find the strength to battle ignorance and violence and judgment with grace and dignity.

Help them to stand up to the bully and stand up for the downtrodden.

Please Lord,

Give them eyes that can see injustice and hands and a heart that are willing to fight against it.

Give them a heart for the poor and the needy, and help them understand that one can be rich in money but poor in spirit.  Both are in need.

Lord,

When darkness overshadows them, help them search for the light.

When defeat threatens to overtake them, help them find persistence.

When sin enters their doors, help them find redemption.

When the path seems uncertain, help them find faith.

And always, through it all, help them to always see and be a beacon of love and compassion.

And always please hold them in the palm of your hand.

Love,

A Concerned Mama
